Services – Team Performance

Services

Team performance workshops are the glue needed for improved results.

What I offer

Feels safe to speak up freely, learn from the past and move forward together with my insights into the practice of teaming so your group can experience for themselves the rewards of being a tight, functional and motivated team. A strong team moves forward together with common goals and shared understanding, leading to increased performance and satisfaction every day.

I offer specially designed teaming workshops, daily or weekly activities for your team to use to continue their teaming practices, and follow-up refresher workshops to keep your team motivated and high-performing.

It’s all about  your team

Do you have a team that needs to operate differently or more effectively? Maybe your organisation has restructured and your team has new objectives or members. Perhaps you’re a leader with a new team & you want to get on the same page so there’s a strong sense of ‘we’re all in this together’. Maybe your team is having to deal with the uncertainty and inconvenience of being physically distant while having to work from home.

Teams face common challenges when they are created, re-created and sustained. All teams need:

Alignment & inspiration

Effective collaboration

Drive for results

Clarity on how the work will be done

Psychological safety and forthrightness

Teaming workshops provide the knowledge and skills to address these challenges and support your team to be fully engaged and more effective.

When a team works well together people enjoy coming to work and the satisfying results of their collaborative efforts are evident in every part of their day-to-day performance

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the practice of ‘teaming’ improve the performance of a team?

Have you ever heard of Michael Gerber and his book The E-Myth? Gerber learned that being an excellent subject matter expert in his field did not get the results he aimed for. Subject matter experts are gold – we all need them and they work ‘in the business’. However, in addition to that Gerber states that we also need team members to work ‘on the business’. This means that teams need a shift in perspective as well simple but effective rituals to practice teaming in order to make the business work and have consistently high performance.

My 20 years in organisational change programmes has led me to realise how common it is to see a focus on individuals in a team as the mechanism to achieve the results they aim for collectively.
Now I’m going to turn this sideways and share with you my discovery. Teams are the primary vehicle to achieve performance. As a team leader, you need to have the right talent, skills and attitudes in each individual. Once you’ve got that, then what? You can teach them how to do the role you hired them for, or if they are experienced, just point them at the work and support them as needed… right?!

Absolutely… However it’s more of a Yes, AND….

Yes – orient each individual to their role and support them to be successful.
AND – bring the team together, with an external facilitator, to practice teaming on the areas of their work where they need to collaborate together to get the best results.

here will be some areas of any job where a team member works autonomously and others where they need to work more interdependently (teaming) with others.

How long is the facilitated team performance workshop?

There will be a team development workshop is typically designed to go over two full days.

How often should a team hold a facilitated team performance workshop?

I recommend every six months. Get in touch with me anytime if your team is needing a refresher.

How can a team self-sustain its performance culture in between their regular facilitated team performance workshops?

This is important. Team meetings can easily be designed to include time to put into practice the key elements needed to sustain a strong team’s performance. The workshops provide you with the tools and activities you need that can be used daily or weekly to practice teaming. Work with me to design your team’s unique operating rhythm.

Where are the workshops held?

I travel throughout New Zealand to provide teaming workshops at a location convenient to you.
